Before starting a trip, we hardly consider some important details with truly real influence on our itinerary, since these details allow us to have a pleasant trip or simply spoil our vacations. That is why we show below some important facts, such as personal security, assistance plans for travelers, traveling with children and selecting a touristic circuit, among others.

We hope our advices not only make you save money, but also any trouble.

 

Traveler's Documentation

 

Before leaving your country, verify the expiration date of your passport and visas. Take sure to be vaccined and to bring your tourism cards according to your destinations.

If traveling with children, do not forget to find out about the necessary procedures to leave your country with a child (notary permissions, etc).



Personal security

• Get informed about the areas considered risked by residents,
  and avoid to pass by.

• Do not drive in areas far from principal avenues, always bring on
  a current map of the city.

• Avoid wearing objects that make evident you are a tourist.
  Avoid wearing evident jewelry, clocks or any valuable.

• Bring over a little money: bring traveler's check, which are to be    replaced in case of loss or robbery.

• If possible, take sure your hotel room has a security lock with a    chain.

• Take sure the door's and windows' locks are save.
• Keep your valuables in the hotel security boxes.
• Hold the label “do not bother” if out of the hotel.
• Never open your room door to receive packages or unexpected    visits.

• your doctor and local emergency services.
• Your airline
• Medical Assistance Insurance certificate
• Embassy and Consulate of Peru
• Your family at home
• Your office
• Your travel agency


Assistance Plan

To avoid spoiling your trip, it is indispensable to have an assistance insurance, which should include:

• 24/7/365 attention
• Available 24 hours a day.
• Medical cover against illness and accidents.
• Luggage location service,
• Sanitary repatriation unlimited.
• Lawyer honorarium
• Cancellations or flight loss expenses
• Assistance in case of documents loss.


Precautions

• make a medical check before traveling. Identify if the countries you   will visit require vaccinations or any other prevention measure, which   ones are required or suggested to enter the country.

• Pack an additional pair of contact lens and take a copy of your   medical prescription.

• Bring along a medical identification in case of diabetes, allergy, being   on medication ore any condition possibly subject to emergency care.

• Bring your medicines in their original packages to avoid troubles at   duty.

• Avoid eating raw vegetables, skinned fruits, raw meat, sea fruits,   rew water or ice and non pasteurized milk.

• drink only bottled water and closed beverages, or boiled water.

• Resist against the temptation of eating food to street vendors.

• Verify the weight limit permission at your airline, avoid to pay for   luggage excess.

• In many of the international airports, the international departure tax   must be paid with local currency only.

• Some taxes are to be paid in the destination country only.

If traveling with Children

• Always dress your children with easily remarkable clothes when going to crowded places.

• Hold at any part of the child's clothes a label indicating his/her name, address, telephone number and the name of the hotel you are lodged in.

• Have easily available your nearest medical contact.

• Try to choose a hotel with some activity programs for children.

• Bring paediatric medicines to relieve common indispositions such as: aches of stomach, ears, travel sickness, flu or fever.

• If a long flight travel is made, always carry the preferred toys of the child.

• Avoid long or difficult journeys, try to always have resting periods.

Selecting a touristic program

• Check exactly what is included whether not in the program they offer.

• Study carefully the sites you will visit during the itinerary, making the difference between those visited during a special tour and those seen just from the bus.

• Identify the optional visits, since these ones have a separately priced.

• Study the hardness of each day, since some programs have many activities for each days.

• Always get informed about the payments deadlines and reimboursement politic in case you desist from doing the trip or in case of dates variations.
